Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Physical Education

The Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Physical Education is a multidisciplinary programme that focuses on physical fitness, sports sciences, health education, sports psychology, anatomy and exercise physiology, sports management, biomechanics, athletic training and research methods. The curriculum combines theoretical knowledge with practical understanding of sports, wellness, recreation, injury prevention and physical performance, preparing students for careers in teaching, coaching, fitness training, sports administration, health promotion and higher studies in physical education and sports sciences.

Eligibility Criteria

Admission Requirements

Candidates seeking admission to the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Physical Education must fulfill the eligibility requirements prescribed by the College and the University.

Minimum Eligibility

  • ✓ Candidates must have passed the 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized Board.
  • ✓ Students from Arts, Science and Commerce streams are eligible to apply.
  • ✓ Interest in sports, fitness, health and physical activities is desirable.
  • ✓ Admission shall be granted according to the rules and regulations of the affiliating University.
  • ✓ Reservation and relaxation in eligibility shall be applicable as per Government and University norms.

Attendance Requirements

  • Students must maintain the minimum attendance prescribed by the University.
  • Regular participation in theory classes, practical sessions, sports activities and field training is mandatory.
  • Attendance shortages may affect eligibility for examinations and practical evaluations.

Assessment & Evaluation

  • Evaluation includes internal assessment, practical performance and end-semester examinations.

  • Students must fulfill all university examination requirements for successful completion of the programme.

Sports & Practical Training

  • Active participation in games, sports, athletics and physical fitness programmes is encouraged.
